Accuracy Control Specialist

Job TitleCheck critical measurements throughout all phases of vessel construction. This includes but is not limited to panel line construction through unit block erection.Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following:Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.Check measurements of panels during panel line fabrication.Check all jig construction for as-designed geometry.Check all critical alignments during unit construction.Check all critical alignments during block erection.Be available to help production with any measurements that may be required.Be available for any yard projects that will require critical measurement checks.Liaison between production and Engineering.Perform other duties as required.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.RequirementsEducation/Experience: Three to five years shipyard experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience in the use of electronic and laser measuring equipment and dimensional control required. Requires knowledge of ship terminology, safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.Skills: Basic to Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and AutoCAD required. Requires proficiency in the structural aspects of shipbuilding and have working knowledge in all other disciplines. Ability to read and comprehend written, verbal, or diagram forms or plans. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to read and understand blueprints, construction and shop drawings. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, supervisors and employees.
