Grants Coordinator

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana serves more than 1,000 youth annually ages 8 - 18 in Hamilton, Johnson, and Marion Counties. We partner with parents/caregivers, volunteers, schools, and the donors in our community to defend, ignite, and empower the potential of every child we serve. Purpose of this function and role: The Grants Coordinator executes responsibilities to achieve revenue goals and fulfillment related to foundation, government, and other assigned grant funders. Key Duties Grants & Data Management: Coordinate development of grant-related strategy, goals, and projections in collaboration with CEO, Program, and other staff leadership. Conduct research, identification, cultivation, and stewardship activities for new funder prospects and existing grant funders. Maintain grant/funder calendar including deadlines, assignments, status, details, etc. for applications and reports. Complete assigned funder applications and reports, coordinating with other staff as needed to collect necessary information, write application/report, fulfill all requirements, review drafts, and submit according to schedule. Support funder relationships. Communicate grant receipt and requirements to relevant staff and coordinate with others to develop a regularly updated tracking system for grant deliverables. Coordinate implementation and completion of necessary activities for assigned grants, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and donor regulations. Analyze data and collect insights into program and project impact as related to grant applications and reports. Organize and maintain related funder records and relevant grant agreements and documents. General: Maintain timesheet and budget documents, including invoices and other expenses, and submit through proper channels promptly. Participate and engage in continued JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) learning and discussions. Attend required meetings and events as scheduled. Establish and promote positive communication among all team members of BBBSCI to increase collaboration and reduce inefficiencies. Always represent BBBSCI professionally, providing courteous service to internal and external constituents and presenting a positive image of BBBSCI. Abide by BBBSCI policies and practices. Complete other duties as assigned. Evaluation of Performance Performance will be evaluated based on meeting the requirements of the job description; meeting performance metrics and other quality indicators established for this position; working effectively in a team environment; and demonstrating the values of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. Experience, education, degrees, and licenses Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, preferred focus in nonprofit management, fundraising, or communications. Some work experience in a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft office software and experience with or ability to learn Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce databases. Will be required to participate in continuing educations programs as requested. Experience in project management and excellent written communication skills required. Physical demands/Work environment Must be able to work proficiently with computers and other office equipment. Must be able and willing to work evenings and weekends as required by agency. Required to travel approximately 10% of time to meet agency needs, attend conferences and meetings, etc. Travel is generally within Central Indiana. Overnight travel potential 0-1% yearly for conferences. Must be able to meet eligibility requirements in a background check consisting of National Sex Offender, Criminal History and Motor Vehicle Registry and verified through fingerprinting.
