U.S. citizenship required. About the Role You will serve as a core engineer on a small team delivering enterprise web services deployed in AWS. This mid-level role expects you to own features end-to-end across the full stack, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive improvements to reliability and maintainability across multiple production applications. Responsibilities Design and implement features across the API, UI, and data layers with limited supervision Own production services — deploy, monitor, troubleshoot incidents, and drive root-cause fixes Contribute to system architecture discussions including tradeoffs, scalability, and security Participate actively in code reviews and establish maintainable patterns across the codebase Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements, estimate work, and deliver iteratively in an Agile environment Write clear technical approaches and documentation when needed Required Qualifications Proficiency in one or more: PHP, .NET C#, Java, Node.js, or Python Front-end development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Vue.js or React Deploying and operating software on Linux — service configuration, logging, basic networking, and automation Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, authentication/authorization patterns, and secure coding practices Working knowledge of relational databases including indexing and practical query tuning Desired Qualifications Hands-on AWS experience: IAM, EC2, ALB, S3, RDS, CloudWatch — or Azure equivalents Nginx, Apache, or Tomcat configuration and performance tuning Scripting and automation with PowerShell and/or Python; familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Experience supporting production services and participating in incident response or on-call rotations Why engineers join Benz 15% employer 401(k) — vested day one, no match required 28 paid days off per year $7,500 annual tuition reimbursement $2,500 training & development budget 28 years in business — our engineers stay through recompetes
