Service Writer
Morgan Corp. is currently searching for a Service Writer in Duncan, SC.The Service Writer supports the Equipment Division by managing service documentation, work order processes, and maintenance data accuracy. This position serves as a key coordination point between maintenance operations, equipment management, and data analytics to ensure work orders, compliance requirements, and maintenance records are complete, accurate, and timely. The role works closely with the Senior Equipment Manager and Data Analyst to ensure consistency, accuracy, and standardization of work order coding and task descriptions, translating technician input into high-quality maintenance data that supports reliability, cost control, and decision-making.Responsibilities:Create, track, and manage equipment work orders within the CMMS from initiation through completionEnsure all work orders meet documentation, compliance, and recordkeeping standardsTrack maintenance events, corrective actions, and rework within the CMMS systemResearch, validate, and reconcile incomplete or inaccurate maintenance recordsApply standardized job codes, failure codes, and support detailed task descriptions to all work ordersEnsure work orders accurately reflect labor, parts, failure modes, and corrective actionsCoach technicians on required work order detail and documentation expectationsCoordinate with maintenance personnel and equipment management to clarify the scope of work, priorities, and schedulingMonitor recurring failures and rework trends, and support root cause analysis and continuous improvement effortsGenerate and distribute CMMS reports related to maintenance activity, downtime, rework, and complianceProvide reporting and data support to the Data Analyst and Senior Equipment ManagerAssist with preventive maintenance scheduling and compliance trackingSupport parts usage tracking and ensure accurate association with work ordersParticipate in safety meetings and support daily operational planning activitiesMaintain organized electronic and physical service recordsCoordinate and monitor daily timecard submissions for all hourly Equipment Division employeesQualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a service writer, maintenance coordinator, or similar roleExperience working with CMMS platforms and maintenance workflowsGeneral understanding of heavy equipment maintenance terminology and repair processesStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple work orders simultaneouslyAbility to analyze maintenance data and produce clear, accurate reportsAbility to work effectively with field and shop personnel in fast-paced, high-accountability environmentsEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent software toolsValid driver's license and driving record compliant with company MVR guidelinesWork Environment:This position is primarily based in an office and maintenance facility environment, with regular interaction in active shop or equipment yard settings. This role may require walking shop floors, accessing equipment areas, and working around operating machinery.
