Job Details Job Title: Locum Tenens Psychiatrist, Child & Adolescent (Inpatient) Location: Natick, MA (01760) - Boston area / Middlesex County Setting: Inpatient acute psychiatric unit (pediatric & adolescent population) Patient Encounters per Shift: 6-10 Beds in Department: 10 Contract Dates: June 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026 Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,150 - $7,280 (competitive locum tenens pay) Employment Type: Locum tenens / contracted physician assignment Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days Job Requirements / Qualifications Active Massachusetts medical license (required) Board certified in Psychiatry; Child & Adolescent Psychiatry boarded preferred Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience (child/adolescent experience preferred) CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS (as specified) Fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry preferred Strong clinical documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) skills Clinical Responsibilities Perform psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing inpatient care for children and adolescents Manage a caseload of 6-10 patients per shift, including acute stabilization and discharge planning Provide pharmacotherapy, psychopharmacologic management, individual and group therapy, and family-centered care Treat a range of diagnoses: anxiety disorders, mood/affective disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, developmental disorders, psychotic disorders, and organic disorders Demonstrate competence with involuntary commitments, seclusion, and safe restraint procedures per facility policy Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and case managers to ensure comprehensive behavioral health care Participate in treatment team meetings, medication reviews, and coordination with outpatient providers to support continuity of care Skills & Preferred Experience Experience in acute inpatient psychiatry for youth and adolescents Strong crisis management, risk assessment, and de-escalation skills Knowledge of pediatric psychopharmacology and evidence-based therapies Familiarity with Massachusetts involuntary commitment statutes and facility protocols Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams Why Join This Team Competitive locum tenens pay and defined contract dates Opportunity to practice child & adolescent inpatient psychiatry in the Boston metro area Collaborative behavioral health team and supportive clinical environment Flexible locum schedule and professional development opportunities Apply now to be considered for this locum tenens psychiatry opportunity in Natick, MA.
