Experienced Outpatient Medical Coder - Remote After Training
DescriptionWe are excited to invite a skilled medical coder to join our team! This position offers the flexibility of remote work after an initial on-site training session in Clackamas, OR. We are looking for someone with a strong background in medical coding who is dedicated to excellence in coding practices and patient data management.Key ResponsibilitiesCoding & Documentation: Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes to patient health records across various facility settings, including Emergency Departments, Ambulatory Surgical Centers, and Inpatient records. Ensure that coding practices comply with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS/CPT classification systems.Quality Assurance: Review and verify that all coded data meets quality standards while adhering to government regulations and guidelines.Compliance: Follow coding standards established by AHIMA, CMS, and other relevant organizations. Uphold ethical coding practices and maintain patient confidentiality.Communication: Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses and procedures, and effectively communicate coding requirements and updates.RequirementsExperience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in facility coding is required.
