Our EMPLOYEES are our greatest asset in meeting our mission to be an Oklahoma Agency of Excellence.This is a temporary summer position that is responsible for assisting with natural resource management of the Neosho Bottoms used to protect and enhance aquatic and terrestrial habitats and ecosystems.Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:Manage wetlands by operating water control structures and monitoring habitat conditionsConduct water quality testing and wildlife surveys, including waterfowl and deerAssist with prescribed burns, herbicide application, and habitat restoration projectsOperate tractors, skid steers, and other heavy equipment safelyRemove brush and trees and perform general grounds and equipment maintenanceSupport educational programs, field days, and public outreach initiativesEnsure compliance with safety guidelines and environmental regulationsPerform additional duties as assigned.Skills, Knowledge, Qualities:Knowledge of tractor and implement operation and skid steer operationExperience pulling bumper pull trailers and 5th wheel style trailers,Experience with fence repair/construction and general equipment maintenance.Knowledge of safety rules and procedures.Education, Training, Experience:High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in natural resources preferred1 year of agricultural or natural resource experience preferredCertificates, Registrations, Licenses:Valid Oklahoma driver's license, or the ability to convert within 30 days for those with an out of state driver's license that are an Oklahoma resident.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift, move and carry weights of 50 lbs. or more on a regular basisMust be able to perform work outdoors in all types of weatherRequired to bend, stoop, perform above shoulder work and work with arms extendedOther information:Must be at least 18 years of agePosition is located at the Neosho Bottoms in Miami, OKCompensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.Highly competitive benefits package.
