Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of short-order dishes according to established recipes and customer specifications.
Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to food safety standards and sanitation guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness of work stations, utensils, and cooking equipment throughout shifts.
Assist with menu planning by suggesting daily specials or modifications based on ingredient availability.
Serve meals efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude toward customers.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking to management.
Follow all kitchen safety procedures, including knife skills and proper food storage practices, to prevent accidents or contamination.
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service, preferably in fast-paced or restaurant environments.
Strong knowledge of food handling procedures, safety standards, and sanitation practices.
Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering operations is highly desirable.
Excellent knife skills and the ability to work efficiently with various kitchen tools.
Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus.
Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
