Company Description The Florida Debate Initiative provides resources and advocacy for speech and debate education across Florida's public, private, charter, and home schools. Dedicated to increasing civics literacy through the vehicle of speech and debate, the Initiative ensures that the benefits of speech and debate are accessible to all students, promoting equitable opportunities for academic and personal growth. Role Description This is a remote contract role for a Grants Management Consultant. The consultant will be responsible for identifying, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for the organization's programs. Day-to-day tasks include researching grant opportunities, creating compelling grant narratives, maintaining records and deadlines, and collaborating with team members to align grant applications with organizational goals. Qualifications Grant writing and proposal development skills, with experience identifying funding opportunitiesStrong research, analytical, and writing abilities for crafting compelling grant narrativesExperience with grant application processes, record-keeping, and meeting submission deadlinesKnowledge of non-profit fundraising and budget preparationProficient organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong interpersonal communication skills for team collaboration and stakeholder engagementFamiliarity with education, debate programs, or nonprofit organizations is a plusBachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related area
