Service Technician
ASC Pumping Equipment is a full-service pump distributorship co-located in West Bend, WI and Lenexa, KS. We represent and service a large variety of pumping equipment and accessory manufacturers. We meet our valued customers’ needs in the Commercial Aquatic, Industrial, Commercial/HVAC, Fire Pump and Municipal markets. ASC Pumping Equipment is searching for a service technician for its Lenexa location to perform the duties described below. Install, service, and test water pumps and associated equipmentDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in water pump solutions which vary project by projectPerform repairs and replacements on pump components such as seals, bearings, impellers, motors, and valvesPull pump if needed to bring back to warehouse to further analysis and repairPerform start-up of new fire pump installs including controller performance and water releases using large hoses for testing 2. Maintain accurate service records and documentation including but not limited to workorder notes, credit card receipts, and service truck travel logs3. Communicate findings and repair recommendations with customers and/or supervisors4. Drive and keep clean company-owned service truckDuties (At Lenexa Warehouse): 1. Perform repairs to malfunctioning, out of order pumps2. Machine pump impellers, sand blast components, powder-coat, paint, etc.3. Operate a forklift, overhead crane, lathe, and other power equipment4. Assist with physical inventory and maintaining organization5. Assist with facilities maintenance, or other duties as neededRequired Qualifications: 1. Mechanical and/or electrical experience, preferred with pumps, motors, or industrial equipment2. Troubleshooting skills3. Ability to rig suspended loads with approved lifting devices4. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment5. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, occasionally lift and move 75 pounds or more6. Ability to work in outdoor environments: exposed to water, grease, noise, and varying weather conditions as well as occasionally confined spaces7. Standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing as required8. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to on-site job sites in Kansas and MissouriPreferred Qualifications:1. High school diploma or equivalent2. Welding or fabrication experience3. Technical certifications4. Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical motors, and control systemsCompetencies:1. Mechanical aptitude2. Will follow all company safety procedures including wearing the proper safety equipment2. Will report directly to lead service technician and receive oversight by ASC management3. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, occasionally lift and move 75 pounds or more4. No direct supervisory responsibilities, may be asked to work independently in the field on occasion5.
