We're hiring motivated individuals who keep things moving - and we don't take that lightly.Every role makes an impact.Here's what it takes to make yours count.High School Diploma or GED requiredAt least 1 year of customer service, library, or administrative experienceFamiliarity with computers, internet research, and e-reader or tablet technologyProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher)Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAbility to assist patrons and work in a team-oriented public service environmentAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform shelving tasksResponsibilitiesOperate the library circulation desk , including opening and closing proceduresCheck in and check out books, periodicals, and other library materialsShelve materials and maintain accurate organization of library stacksAssist patrons in locating materials using the electronic catalog system and library databasesProvide basic technology support for library computers, printers, and internet accessMaintain cleanliness and organization of library shelves and public spacesCatalog and maintain magazines and other library materialsAssist with library events, educational programs, and community activities such as story time, book clubs, and seasonal programsCreate promotional materials including flyers, bookmarks, and event displaysSupport development of monthly event calendars and programming schedulesHelp promote library services within the community by distributing materials to local organizations and businessesMore Than Just a Paycheck.Real support.
