Senior Quality Consultant – Quality Systems (1099 Contractor)Part-Time | Remote with Occasional Onsite SupportTRIGO is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer / Quality Systems Consultant for a 1099 contract position. This role is primarily remote, with occasional onsite visits required, so candidates should be reasonably local and able to travel to supplier sites as neededThis is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a more full-time engagement based on business needs and performance.We're looking for a practical, hands-on quality professional-someone who understands that while certifications and credentials are valuable, what matters most is real-world experience working with suppliers, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and PPAP reviewsWhat You'll DoReview and assess Quality Management Systems (QMS) for compliance (IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3 preferred)Conduct PPAP reviews and support supplier quality readinessEvaluate supplier performance, including metrics and complaint historyPerform remote and occasional onsite audits of supplier processes and systemsIdentify gaps and work with suppliers to develop and implement corrective action plansVerify effectiveness of corrective actionsPrepare clear, concise reports and communicate findings to stakeholdersServe as a key point of contact between TRIGO and supplier teamsWhat We're Looking ForPreferred (not required):Experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Heavy Transportation, or Defense industriesFamiliarity with IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, APQP, PPAP, and Core ToolsAuditor certification (IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3)Most Important:Strong background in Quality Engineering and supplier qualityHands-on experience working within QMS environmentsAbility to review PPAPs and assess supplier readinessComfortable working independently in a remote settingWillingness and ability to travel onsite when neededExcellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsExperience & EducationSignificant experience in manufacturing and quality (automotive preferred)Engineering degree preferred, but relevant experience is highly valued over formal credentialsWhy This RoleThis is an opportunity for an experienced quality professional who enjoys applying their expertise in a flexible consulting capacity.
