Telecommunications Mechanic I

The Telecommunications Mechanic I is supporting the Air Force and will be reporting to the Director of Operations. This job is 100% on-site.Location: Tinker AFB, OK, 73145Job DescriptionThe Telecommunications Mechanic I will perform a variety of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems under the Tinker BITS contract. This position requires working closely with the Project Manager to complete work orders and other assigned services.Key Responsibilities Complete Work Orders and other services as directed by the Project Manager under the Tinker BITS contract.Install, modify, troubleshoot, and repair voice and/or non-voice communication systems.Run cable, key cable, or house wire to desktop PCs, telephone sets, and terminal connections associated with network infrastructure.Perform Outside Plant (OSP) maintenance and installation tasks, including but not limited to:Manhole/Handhole Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)Underground and buried fiber and copper installationsAdapt and work efficiently in all weather conditions.Provide on-call support as needed.RequirementsHigh School Diploma1-2 years of experience in a similar role.Ability to pass NAC/LAC background check.Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for telecommunications systems.Experience with cable installation and network infrastructure connections.Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.Good communication skills and ability to follow directions from Project Manager.
