Client is seeking a Systems Engineer - Career or Expert to support our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in Everett or Renton, WA. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in requirements engineering, system architecture, design, verification & validation (V&V), and demonstrate knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-Diagram process as defined in ARP4754A/ARP4761 standards.
This role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, safety, and test engineering) to ensure robust system development, compliance with certification standards, and alignment to make a positive impact on the future of the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation from aircraft-level to system and item level.
* Lead development and maintain functional and logical airplane and system architecture.
* Ensure functional hazard assessments (FHA), preliminary system safety assessments (PSSA), and common mode analyses (CMA) in alignment with safety objectives.
* Guide item design and implementation, ensuring traceability to all levels (e.g., DRO, SRO, and SCD) requirements.
* Develop a plan and execute verification and validation activities across the V-model (item verification, system integration & verification, aircraft-level verification).
* Support safety analyses (SSA, FMEA/FMES) and compliance with applicable aerospace/defense regulations (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761).
* Lead discussions across software and hardware engineering teams during design and testing phases.
* Provide documentation and support for certification authorities (FAA/EASA).
* Participate in technical design reviews, audits, and interchange meetings.
Required Skill:
* Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
* 9+ years of experience in systems engineering lifecycle within aerospace, automotive, or complex system domains.
* Extensive hands-on experience with V-Diagram processes (requirements, design, implementation, verification, validation).
* Knowledge of safety assessments (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, FMEA/FMES).
* Familiarity with certification frameworks (ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-178C, DO-254).
* Strong analytical thinking, clear technical writing, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
* Developing System modeling (SysML/UML, Cameo, or equivalent) at the airplane and systems level.
* Leading test planning and execution across multiple integration levels.
* Aircraft design, development, and certification knowledge.
