This mission-driven leader will be responsible for driving the strategy across fundraising, marketing, and communications, with a focus on advancing a major capacity campaign. The successful candidate will lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundations, events, and planned giving. They will also be tasked with personally managing a portfolio of major donors, overseeing marketing and communications efforts, and guiding storytelling to strengthen brand awareness and donor engagement. The role involves building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team, as well as representing the organization externally and strengthening internal systems and operations.Applicants for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred) and at least 10 years' of progressive fundraising experience, including a proven track record in major gifts and campaign leadership. The role requires exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, familiarity with the Bay Area philanthropic landscape, and experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce. Preferred qualifications include experience in planned giving, digital fundraising, or brand strategy, as well as a background in youth development, mentoring, or mission-driven nonprofit organizations.
