Payroll Tax AnalystThe Payroll Tax Analyst is a key contributor to the tax group with growth opportunity. You will work closely with various business units including Human Resources, Corporate Tax and individual business units to deliver tax solutions to meet the needs of the associates and the firm. The Expertise and Skills You Bring5-7 years of individual tax experience in Big 4 public accounting, multi-state and IRS tax experience, or combination of public accounting and in-house tax.Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, HR; Master's in taxation and/or CPA preferredExperience with U.S. withholding taxation and reporting requirementsConfirmed understanding of tax systemsIntermediate level in Microsoft Office Tools, specifically Excel and WordExperience working with IRS and multi-state taxation jurisdictions is requiredFamiliarity with data analytic tools (i.e. Alteryx, Power BI, etc.)Experience working in the financial services industry is a plusExperience in managing IRS, State and multi-state voluntary disclosures and resolving controversiesYou can meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentYou produce high quality work and can prioritize multiple projectsYou have strong accounting, analytical, problem solving, negotiation, influencing, written and oral skillsYou take initiative while seeking appropriate guidanceYou are detail and process oriented with strong ability to organize and analyze dataYou're a great collaboratorYou are committed to self-development, continuous learning and career advancementThe Value You DeliverPrepare / review Federal and State, withholding tax returns (monthly, quarterly, annual and amended)Assist in analyzing relevant legislative changes and effectively communicate implications to managementPrepare/review/update quarterly and year-end state tax ratesRespond to inquiries on Federal and state noticesIdentify opportunities to improve and/or automate processes to improve efficiencies and controls.Serve as a primary liaison between the company and the state taxing authorities on controversy work, timely communication of significant state examination developments to ensure proper company compliance.Preparing and responding to required surveysResearch, respond and resolve moderately complex associate withholding tax matters.Perform/review research and other special projects as necessary to develop knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations relating to job dutiesNote: Fidelity is not providing immigration sponsorship for this position
