Manager Regional Transportation
Salary: Starting range $120K DOELocation: Roosevelt, UtahSchedule: Flexible; nights, weekends, and up to 50% overnight travel as business needs requireThis position directly impacts driver safety, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and regional financial performance while reinforcing Maverik’s commitment to excellence and reliability.Position Summary & Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership to direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing developmentDirect and coach drivers on best practices, safety standards, and operational efficiencyPromote continuous improvement in productivity, safety, and service performanceEnsure driver qualification files, equipment records, and safety documentation are maintained according to established guidelinesServe as a driver advocate by partnering with internal departments to resolve questions, concerns, and issuesCoordinate dispatch communications with customers, suppliers, and drivers to ensure service alignmentManage regional P&L, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost control and performance improvementAdvise on budget management and recommend cost-control strategiesPartner with Lead Drivers and Dispatch to oversee equipment maintenance and fleet readinessFacilitate training to ensure compliance with SOPs, safety protocols, and company policiesLead initial response efforts for incidents and accidents, including reporting and investigation supportEnsure compliance with DOT, governmental, and safety regulationsMaintain schedule flexibility to meet business needsPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred5+ years of experience in the transportation industryPrior leadership experience preferredExperience in crude transportation strongly preferredActive CDL with professional driving experience preferredKnowledge of DOT regulations (local, state, and federal)Proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteCore CompetenciesStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to deliver consistent, proactive, and high-quality operational supportStrong sense of urgency with a hands-on, problem-solving mindsetAbility to build constructive working relationships through collaboration and mutual respectWillingness to proactively identify and address operational risks and opportunitiesAwareness of industry and market trends impacting operational competitiveness
