The RoleThe Superintendent is responsible for promoting and ensuring site safety, schedule, and a comprehensive knowledge for the day-to-day field operations for their assigned project(s) including planning, coordinating, sequencing work, procurement of materials, and supervising subcontractors and vendors to ensure the work is completed on time, within budget, while adhering to the company's quality standards.What you will accomplishCoordinate all daily operations, forecasting next steps, and maintaining jobsite and equipment readinessMonitor and track Assistant Superintendent/Field Engineer activities to ensure smooth progressCreate and manage schedules, including the 3-week look ahead schedule and visual management plans, to coordinate and track effective phasing coordination and schedule progressHold effective and relevant meetings with subcontractors, such as weekly meetings, daily huddles, and last planner (pull planning) sessionsTake responsibility for OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meeting requirements and actively participate in interactions with owners, design teams, and municipalitiesEnsure project budgets are meticulously managed to deliver projected profits and identify gain opportunities throughout the project's durationFacilitate seamless interactions among internal tradesmen, owners, architects, and general contractorsCoordinate day-to-day operations of a group of employees and delegate responsibilities effectivelyReview construction documents for completeness and constructabilityGenerate and manage RFIs (Request for Information) as neededCollaborate with inspection authorities for approvals and resolve construction-related issuesPerform skilled workmanship when applicableWhat we would like you to haveMinimum 8 years of experience in the commercial and trade construction industryTechnical and skilled knowledge in a wide range of commercial construction marketProven experience reading and interpreting construction drawings and specificationsUnderstanding of building codes, OSHA regulations, and safety requirementsProficiency in construction scheduling and project management softwareKnowledge of construction materials, methods, and quality standards
