Project Manager - Commercial Electrical
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment, focused on healthcare and institutional work. This is a hands-on execution role responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, working directly with field teams, GCs, and internal departments. The position supports large, complex projects with strong internal infrastructure including estimating, BIM, and leadership support. This role is critical to driving project execution, maintaining schedules, and ensuring profitability across an active backlog of commercial work.ResponsibilitiesOversee commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are metManage field execution by coordinating electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and internal teams across active job sitesInterface directly with general contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders to drive timelines and resolve issuesReview and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate executionManage project schedules, change orders, RFIs, and cost tracking throughout the lifecycle of each projectCoordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to support takeoffs, scope alignment, and project setupWork closely with BIM teams to translate design intent into field-ready plans and resolve coordination conflictsMonitor project profitability, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on trackMaintain accurate project documentation and reporting within internal ERP and project management systemsRequirements5+ years of experience in commercial electrical project management within an electrical contractor environmentProven experience managing or supporting electrical projects in the $3M-$15M+ range (preferred)Strong understanding of full project lifecycle including scheduling, change orders, field coordination, and GC interactionExperience working on healthcare, hospital, university, or institutional projects preferredAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documentsExperience with tools such as Bluebeam, AcuBid, or similar estimating/project software preferredMust have direct project ownership or significant execution responsibility (not purely coordination roles)Commercial electrical experience required (general contractor-only or residential backgrounds will not be considered) BenefitsCompensation: $125,000-$140,000 base salary plus bonus potential.
