This role is essential to ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents, staff, and visitors.As the site grows from approximately 500 occupants to more than 4,000, Janitors play a critical role in supporting high‑traffic areas and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the facility. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will work as part of a team dedicated to upholding Dexterra’s cleanliness and safety standards.YOUR WORK WILL INCLUDECleaning and sanitizing public and common areas, including:Lobbies and entrywaysHallways and stairwellsWashrooms and shower facilitiesRecreation rooms, offices, and shared spacesSweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot‑cleaning floors and surfacesDisinfecting high‑touch points such as door handles, railings, switches, and countersEmptying garbage and recycling from public areas and disposing of waste properlyRestocking washroom supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap)Cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces as requiredMaintaining janitorial equipment, carts, and storage areas in a clean and organized mannerReporting maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisorFollowing all safety procedures at all timesAssisting with additional janitorial or housekeeping duties as assignedQualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Previous experience in janitorial, cleaning, or facilities maintenance preferredExperience in workforce accommodations, hotel, institutional, or commercial cleaning environments considered an assetKnowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and commitment to cleanlinessPhysically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 35–50 poundsWillingness to follow all safety, sanitation, and infection‑control proceduresAdditional InformationDexterra is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
