In this role, you’ll assist with tax return preparation, compliance, and planning for a variety of clients, including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. You’ll gain hands-on experience with federal tax law and Washington-specific tax issues while working alongside experienced CPAs and mentors.Because Washington does not impose a personal or corporate income tax, this role will also involve exposure to other state and local taxes such as the Washington Business & Occupation (B&O) Tax and Washington Sales and Use Tax, as well as multistate tax considerations.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare federal tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trustsAssist in the preparation of tax extensions, estimated payments, and tax projectionsSupport compliance with Washington state and local taxes, including B&O and sales/use tax filingsConduct basic tax research on federal and multistate issues using tools like CCH or BNAAssist clients with inquiries or notices from the Internal Revenue Service and the Washington State Department of RevenueMaintain organized and accurate client documentation and workpapersStay up to date on federal and Washington state/local tax law changesCollaborate with team members in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentUtilize tax preparation software (e.g., ProConnect Tax.) to process returnsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA-eligible or actively pursuing CPA licensure in WashingtonUnderstanding of federal tax regulations and general state/local tax conceptsStrong attention to detail and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)PreferredInternship or 1+ year of experience in public accounting or tax preparationFamiliarity with Washington tax structure (B&O tax, sales/use tax, or multistate filings)Experience with tax software such as ProConnect Tax.CompensationHourly Range: $28.85 – $32.00 USDIn compliance with Washington State pay transparency laws, the posted compensation range reflects the expected pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location within Washington.
