Work ScheduleMon, Tues, Thurs, Fri + every other weekend.5:00am to 1:30pm or 6:00am to 2:30pm.Job SummaryAdhere to correct policy and procedures in carrying out routine tasks. Collects and processes patient specimens for testing in adherence with laboratory protocols. Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phases. Prepare samples/specimens for producing accurate and reliable results by following collection procedure.Position ResponsibilitiesPatient identification, phlebotomy, specimen labelingSpecimen verification, processing, shipment and front loading on instruments for testingPerforms pre-analytical processes including registration, and orderingProvides outstanding customer service by demonstrating effective and appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.Performs clerical functions including but not limited to telephone communication, report generation and faxingRequired ExperiencePrevious customer service experience with demonstrated ability to perform detailed clerical work. Previous experience working as a phlebotomist in a medical setting preferred. Good interpersonal and time management skills.Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Training / Certification / LicensureFormal phlebotomy training required. ASCP, NHA or AMT certification preferred.
