Diesel Truck MechanicJob Summary: The diesel truck mechanic is responsible for maintaining the diesel equipment in the fleet while ensuring all safety requirements are met. This includes repair and preventative maintenance on equipment as necessary to ensure proper operating condition.Duties And Responsibilities:Perform all types of repair and PM work on tractors and trailersPerforms standard vehicle maintenancePerforms standard component inspections and repairsPerforms preventive maintenance and warranty work on equipmentDiagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicableIdentifies root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as requiredReplaces defective components as instructedPerforms facility maintenance dutiesInteracts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a taskWorks in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT)Maintain a clean and organized workspaceAbid by and provide feedback for continuous improvement of all EHSS policies, procedures, and safe work practicesAdditional duties as assignedExperience And Skill Requirements:Air conditioning and brake certificationsPrevious experience with engine and electrical diagnosticsDriver's License required, Class A CDL preferredPrevious welding experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPost-secondary vocational education strongly preferred
