QCS Senior Field Service Technician

This position reports to: IAPI Service Center Manager As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and service to our customers. You will perform installations, maintenance, and repairs on equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The QCS Senior Field Service Technician will also perform preventive and corrective maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of proprietary ABB hardware and software, and assist with projects, upgrades, new installations, and advanced services. You will work independently or as part of a small site team. The work location for the role is: Brewton, Alabama. Responsibilities Maintain quality control hardware and software, including cleaning debris from sensors, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and maintaining the working state of the entire ABB quality control solution. Answer customer questions about the ABB system and resolve service-related issues while fostering customer relationships and solving technical problems on-site. Provide on-call support for 24‑hour emergency requests; participate in team rotation as required. Accurately document preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. Play an active role in projects such as upgrades, new installations, or new functionality for customers, coordinating work with other groups to meet commitments. Apply safety rules and environmental responsibilities during all service activities. Lead HSE activities at customer sites and report unsafe practices and incidents to ensure a safe working environment. Identify new service business opportunities in close cooperation with customers and ABB teams. Coach technicians and engineers, supervise complex site activities, and provide technical guidance and training to colleagues and customers. Qualifications Associate's degree in a related field and 5+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation, or process control experience *or* HS diploma/GED and 7+ years of related experience. Mechanical/electrical aptitude, basic understanding of electrical theory and safety, and ability to use electrical test equipment. Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot electrical systems. Ability to identify voltage systems above 240 VAC/870 VDC. Comfortable using basic hand tools. Basic understanding of the paper‑making process and process control preferred; exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting beneficial. Travel up to 15% for training and assistance at other sites.
