This person will build strong customer relationships through dedicated customer service and product development. They will become the voice of our customers and work closely with our engineering and management teams in China to bring new products from design concepts to mass production.The Thermal Engineering Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing program management, engineering management, project management, hardware development, and systems engineering tasks.This is a highly dynamic role that requires strong ownership, structured thinking, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while keeping all stakeholders aligned.This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Cupertino, CA, with flexibility for partial remote work.Key Responsibilities:Program ManagementLead global cross-functional teams to drive end-to-end product development from concept through launch, ensuring successful program executionDrive program alignment by leading regular syncs and clearly communicating priorities, risks, and actionsProactively identify risks and drive mitigation or recovery plans to keep programs on trackManage interdependencies, resolve conflicts, and remove build blockersCoordinate material planning and build readiness, including resources and factory readiness (fixtures, equipment, processes)Partner closely with factory engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure smooth NPI and ramp readinessBe the main point of contact for commercial topics (such as quotes, purchase orders, invoices, etc.)Work closely with customers’ global supply team for price and delivery considerationsDemonstrate strong ownership and drive program success, even without direct authorityCustomer Interface and CommunicationServe as the primary point of contact for customer teams, aligning on schedules, build plans, and key deliverablesAct as the central interface across customer Engineering, Operations, and GSM teams to ensure clear communication and cross-functional team alignmentProvide clear program updates, including status, priorities, risks, and required supportDrive timely DFM and report approvals and ensure readiness for customer milestonesCoordinate and support customer visits to AAC manufacturing sites, ensuring discussions are structured and objectives are achievedBe available as needed to assist customers and colleagues even outside of regular business hours.Travel RequirementsUp to 25% international travel (primarily to China), approximately 2-6 times annually.QUALIFICATIONSRequired qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.3-5 years of experience in program or product managementExperience with NPI cycles and hardware product developmentExperience with supply chain operations or materials managementExperience in leading cross-functional teamsStrong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, Master's degree is a plus5-10 years of experience in program or project managementKnowledge of hardware design and manufacturing processesHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExperience with quoting, cost structure, or budget alignment is a plusSkillsAbility to understand complex mechanical assembliesDetailed knowledge and understanding of product development processesExperience in leadership and managing teams, as well as leading cross-functional process improvements, and ability to inspire team members and build collaborative work environmentsDemonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities and ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of an organization, with excellent analytical and communication/facilitation skills.Negotiation and risk management skillsComfortable in communicating with all levels of employees and managementAble to summarize complex situations into clear updates for leadershipFluent in English speaking and writing.[Desired] Fluent in Mandarin speaking and writing[Desired] Experience with traveling and working with factories in China.[Desired] PMP or certificate of Program ManagementApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and does not require sponsorship.
