Position: Field Operations Manager Field: Agriculture Type: Full-Time Salary: $50,000/year Job Overview: The Agriculture Tech Lead will perform in field collection as well as support Agricultural Technicians in their daily operations, manage logistics, maintain equipment, and ensure efficient execution of field collections. This role requires collaboration with various departments, providing training and support to staff. Key Responsibilities: 1. In Field Collection and Supervision: In-Field Collections: Perform in-field collections as needed. Oversee Ag Techs: Supervise and support Agricultural Technicians in daily operations, including job dispatch and follow-up. 2. Logistics and Inventory Management: Manage Logistics: Coordinate field operations for yourself and Ag Techs, ensuring efficient scheduling and resource allocation. Maintain Equipment Inventory: Keep track of collection equipment inventory and ensure adequate supply levels in coordination with the Fleet Manager. 3. Workload Assessment: Evaluate current and projected workloads to determine capacity and resource needs. 4. Recruitment and Hiring: Work with HR to recruit and hire Agricultural Technicians and Seasonals as needed. Support, coach, and train new staff during onboarding and address day-to-day issues. 5. Equipment Maintenance: Construct and Maintain Equipment: Assist in constructing and maintaining collection equipment for optimal performance. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as equipment storage, fluid changes, and battery upkeep. 6. Employee Management: Training and Spot Checks: Train new employees according to standardized protocols, conduct monthly in-field spot checks, and evaluations. Performance Reviews: Manage employee records and assist in conducting performance reviews, ensuring accountability for job completion. 7. Team Participation: Participate in scheduled meetings to stay informed and contribute to team discussions. Regularly check and respond to email communications. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or coursework in agriculture, environmental science, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in agricultural fieldwork or a related supervisory role. Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate field operations. Strong organizational and logistical management skills. Proficiency with agricultural equipment and software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to train and mentor staff effectively. Good problem-solving skills and adaptability. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) or similar software.
