Position: Geriatric Psychiatrist Senior Behavioral Health UnitLocation: Saranac Lake, NYStart Date: ASAP (emergency privileges available for rapid start)Duration: OngoingAssignment Type: Inpatient geriatric psychiatrySchedule:Onsite rounding: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch) flexible; typically Nightly call: 5:00 PM 8:00 AMWeekend call: Same as nightly, as scheduledH&Ps performed by other physiciansOccasional consults on Med/Surg or ED floors (infrequent)Patient Population & Census:100% geriatric / senior behavioral health (ages 55+)12-bed inpatient unitAverage daily census: 8 12 patientsAverage patients seen daily: 8 12Support & Resources:Social workers and nurses onsiteLocum will be the sole psychiatrist for the unitEMR: Meditech (training provided)Dictation services availableRequirements:Board Certified or Board Eligible PsychiatristFellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry not requiredActive NY license preferred (emergency privileges possible)Credentialing:Immediate start possible with emergency privileges
