Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PACU night shift position requiring a minimum of 3 years of PACU experience, prior travel experience, and Cardiac Cath/EP/TAVR/Vascular background.
Details
Works in a Perioperative Pre/Post unit within a hospital setting, including a 23-hour short stay unit
Unit includes 40 pre/post beds and 9 overnight bays
Patient population includes Cardiac Cath, EP, TEE/Cardioversion, Vascular, Robotic TAVR, and Pediatric Cath cases
Patient ratios are 2:1 for Phase 1 Care, up to 3-4 patients in the 23-hour stay unit
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Every other weekend call required, with rotating on-call responsibilities
Floating required to Bramhall PACU, IMC, and ICU as needed; candidates must be willing to float
Equipment used includes IV pumps, PCAs, epidurals, arterial lines, telemetry monitoring, TEE, and CV monitoring
EMR: Epic
Requirements
Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Minimum 3 years of recent PACU experience required
ICU experience required
Pre- and post-procedure experience with TEE, Cardioversion, Cath, EP, and OR procedures required
Experience with cardiac drips, IV management, telemetry monitoring, Phase 1 Care, groin management, and EKGs required
Ability to read telemetry strips required
Trauma Level 1 experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Driver's license required for consideration
Two professional references required for consideration
SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
Provides Phase 1 PACU care to a diverse perioperative patient population including complex cardiac and vascular cases
Online education modules and unit-specific orientation provided based on individual need
Scrubs of any color are acceptable; facility is fragrance-free
Artificial nails and personal cell phone use are not permitted
Candidates who have worked at any facility within this health system in the past 12 months should disclose this when applying
Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and subject to a different pay rate
Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
Float policy includes potential floating between facilities within a 25-mile radius
Travel pairs or groups are not permitted for this assignment
