Job Description Electrical Hardware Engineer | Up to $200,000 | Wallingford, CT | Direct HireWhat Matters Most:Competitive Salary: Up to $200,000 annually, depending on experienceLocation: On-site in Wallingford, CTDirect Hire opportunity with a global engineering organization8+ years of experience designing complex electronic hardware and electrical systemsStrong background in electrical/electronic hardware design, system architecture, and embedded systemsExperience with multi-layer PCB design, DFMEA, design validation, and manufacturing supportJob Description:We are seeking an experienced Electrical Hardware Engineer to lead the design and development of sophisticated electronic systems supporting next-generation products. This position offers the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from concept and architecture through validation, production, and continuous product improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong hardware design expertise with systems-level thinking and enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions.Responsibilities:Design and develop complex electronic hardware for new and existing productsDefine system architectures and ensure successful integration across electrical, embedded, mechanical, thermal, and optical disciplinesDevelop schematics, engineering documentation, and technical design packagesLead design reviews, risk assessments, and technical decision-making throughout product developmentSupport prototype builds, product validation, troubleshooting, and root cause investigationsPartner with Manufacturing Engineering to improve manufacturability, product reliability, and production efficiencyEvaluate engineering changes and implement product enhancements based on customer and manufacturing feedbackProvide technical leadership and mentor junior engineering team membersCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management to deliver projects on scheduleQualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's preferred)8+ years of experience designing electronic hardware and electrical systemsStrong knowledge of system architecture and electronic product developmentExperience with embedded systems and firmware interactionProficiency using electronic design (eCAD) tools and engineering documentation systemsExperience designing multi-layer PCB assemblies and electronic hardwareWorking knowledge of C/C++, Python, or similar programming languagesExperience with DFMEA, design verification, validation testing, and engineering change processesStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)Benefits and Perks:Competitive compensation packageComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefitsPaid holidays and paid time offProfessional development and career advancement opportunitiesCollaborative engineering culture focused on innovation and continuous improvementYour New Organization:Our client is an internationally recognized technology manufacturer that develops advanced electronic interconnect and high-performance engineering solutions for some of the world's most demanding industries.
