Assistant Controller, Fund Finance | $8B+ Investment PlatformI’m currently working with a highly regarded private investment firm managing over $8B in capital across its Sports and Asset Management verticals. The firm partners closely with an established network of entrepreneurs and family offices to build long-term value, and has seen significant growth over the past few years—currently operating three funds and launching a fourth.They are actively building out their Fund Finance team with multiple add-to-staff hires across both GP and traditional fund finance. These roles sit in a lean, high-impact environment with strong exposure to deal activity, capital flows, and fund operations.The team is looking for individuals who can step in and own core responsibilities day one, including:Capital calls, distributions, and deal fundingsInvestor requests and reportingCredit facility exposureWaterfall calculations (critical)Partnering with fund administratorsThis role sits at the center of the firm's fund operations, with ownership over quarterly NAV, investor reporting, financial statement preparation, audit coordination, and capital activity across multiple fund vehicles and complex structures. The Finance Manager will work directly with investment teams, investor relations, and senior leadership, and will be expected to operate independently, improve processes, and build infrastructure as the platform continues to grow.Key Responsibilities:— Fund Administration: Own the fund administrator relationship end-to-end, including:o Financial statements and footnoteso Capital calls and distributionso Partner allocations and waterfall scheduleso Cash management and credit facility activity— Investment Team Collaboration: Work directly with deal teams to facilitate fundings, realizations, and portfolio valuations across the firm's investment verticals— Investor Relations Support: Partner with the IR team to address ad-hoc investor inquiries, support capital raising reporting needs, and ensure timely and accurate LP communications— Systems & Process Improvement: Drive system build-outs and process enhancements, including project management, UAT testing, and workflow optimization across fund accounting platforms— Controller Exposure: Gain direct exposure to the Fund Controller function, contributing to strategic initiatives related to fund operations and financial infrastructure
