In this hybrid, contract-based role, you will empower program staff across various human services programs by designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports. You will play a key part in the agency's migration to Power BI as the enterprise analytics platform, working closely with program, policy, and IT teams to translate business requirements into actionable reporting solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful, data-driven initiatives while gaining exposure to a broad range of social services data and modern analytics tools.What You'll DoDesign, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support program performance monitoring and operational decision-making across divisionsWrite and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from agency source systems and databasesCollaborate with program staff, policy teams, and IT to understand data requirements and translate them into clear, actionable reporting solutionsSupport the client's migration toward Power BI as the enterprise analytics platform, in alignment with the client's Microsoft stack adoptionMaintain and update existing reports, data models, and documentation as business needs evolvePerform data validation and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and consistency across reporting outputsAssist with ad hoc data pulls, analysis, and presentation materials for agency leadershipParticipate in agile-style sprint planning and project status meetings with IT and program stakeholdersWhat You Bring2–4 years of experience in a data analyst or BI developer roleProficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M language), data modeling, and report/dashboard developmentSolid SQL skills with experience querying relational databases (SQL Server preferred)Experience gathering requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translating them into reporting deliverablesAbility to work independently in a government or public sector environment with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be eligible to pass a background checkExperience supporting a state or local government agency, health and human services program, or similar regulated environment (preferred)Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Synapse) (preferred)Experience with data systems (e.g., VIEW, VACIS, Data Warehouse) (preferred)Experience with Excel-based reporting, pivot tables, and data wrangling (preferred)Microsoft Power BI certification (PL-300 or equivalent) is a plusWhat's In It For YouExposure to a broad range of social services data and modern analytics toolsCollaborative work environment with program, policy, and IT teamsPotential for contract extension based on performance and agency needsFlexible hybrid work arrangement
