Tool And Die Maker$24 - $35/HourLHH is seeking a Tool & Die Maker for our client. This individual is responsible for fabricating, assembling, repairing, and maintaining dies and tooling used in production. This role involves analyzing blueprints and specifications, machining components from raw steel stock, and ensuring tooling meets precise quality and dimensional standards. The Tool & Die Maker plays a critical role in supporting production efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesFabricate new dies and tooling from raw materials by interpreting blueprints, sketches, and technical specificationsRepair, modify, and maintain existing dies to support production requirementsSet up and operate conventional machine tools including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grindersMachine and assemble progressive and multi-slide diesVerify dimensions, alignments, and tolerances using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators)Inspect finished dies for surface finish, contour accuracy, and defectsConduct test runs to ensure tooling produces parts that meet specificationsSelect or recommend appropriate metals and alloys based on hardness, heat tolerance, and applicationApply press fits, slip fits, and tolerances with an understanding of heat-treat impacts prior to grindingIdentify and implement continuous improvement and problem-solving initiativesQualifications & SkillsProven experience as a Tool & Die Maker or similar precision machining roleStrong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsExperience operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill pressesProficiency using precision measuring toolsExperience working with tool steel, aluminum, Teflon, and other materialsSolid understanding of tolerances, press fits, slip fits, and heat-treat processesStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailEffective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a teamPay/BenefitsPay: $24/hr - $35/hr depending on experienceBenefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
