Lead Software Engineer - Python

Overview You will help establish a new platforms team within the engineering organization. You will design and build cloud-native back-end systems and intuitive front-end interfaces, driving scalable, secure architectures. You will lead AI-assisted development and implement quality, security, and reliability guardrails to accelerate delivery. This role sits onsite in Grapevine, TX, collaborating with engineering leadership to shape the company’s platform strategy and engineering effectiveness. You will mentor engineers and shape best practices across the team, delivering impactful, multi-system solutions that power payments, transactions, and developer workflows. ResponsibilitiesArchitect, design, and build critical back-end systems and intuitive front-end interfacesDesign and operate cloud-native systems on major cloud platforms using Kubernetes, containers, microservices, and SOAOwn non-functional concerns (observability, performance, security, reliability) with SRE practices and SLOsLead adoption of AI-assisted development and integrate AI/LLM capabilities into products and workflowsDrive a shift-left quality strategy with automated tests in CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gatesProvide technical leadership and mentorship across front-end and back-end development; establish healthy delivery cadence and engineering-effectiveness metrics Key requirements8+ years of software development experience4+ years building and operating production systems on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including containers/Kubernetes and cloud-native patterns7+ years of experience with PythonExperience architecting and developing front-end interfaces using React and ReduxHands-on experience with CI/CD, test automation (pytest, Playwright/Selenium), and infrastructure-as-codeWorking proficiency with AI-assisted development tooling and responsible usage in teamsProven progression to technical leadership with ownership of major projects and strong problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills for non-technical stakeholdersfast-paced adaptabilitycollaborationmentorshipPythonReactRedux
