RiverSpring Living provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care.Position OverviewThe Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors. This role involves performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across the buildings, equipment, and grounds while adhering to safety and health regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesChecks Computerized Maintenance Management System, CMMS electronic handheld device for assigned work orders on a regular basis.Enters in the CMMS the date and time when the task was completed, all supplies utilized to complete the task and checks the completed work order box making any relevant notes.Reports to the designated work area, notify nurses on floor or appropriate departmental staff of work to be done and perform assigned tasks in a safe manner.Perform inspections in resident rooms and designated work areas daily making necessary repairs and reporting on any conditions that need managerial attention.Report any malfunctioning equipment to Engineering Assistant Director, and Engineering Director.Communicates via two way radio to receive directives, work requests and to report any unusual circumstances or emergencies that may arise.Maintains tools and equipment in proper and safe condition.Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipmentQualificationsHigh School or GED; Trade or Vocational school graduate or equivalent education & experience. Experience in facilities maintenance including, but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC.Knowledge of New York City building codes and healthcare facilities life safety codes. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate in English and must have the ability to effectively present and receive information from residents, family members and staff.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.Required to have a valid driver’s license.DisclaimerThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or qualifications.
