Quality Assurance Engineer
Company Overview
Master Machine LLC. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Quality Team in implementation of quality assurance programmatic requirements for nuclear, DoE, DoD, and AS9100/ISO9001 projects.
This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Responsibilities:
Ensuring quality requirements are maintained to meet MMI QA Program and Customer requirements.
Pre-job review of Customer purchase orders, work travelers, procedures, repair/replacement plans, machining instructions, welding documents, drawings, QAP’s, and other project and quality-related documents.
In-process review of testing and inspection work travelers.
Support receiving inspection of Customer parts and consumables, including maintaining QA controlled inventory.
Reviewing and verifying dispositions to anomaly reports, including placement and removal of hold tags.
Supporting internal and external audits.
Verifying that all work performed at MMI is according to Customer requirements, procedures, and purchase order / contract agreements.
Performing assigned QA witness / hold points as identified in work travelers.
Performing compilation and pre-shipment reviews of data packages.
Interfacing with Customers and the Authorized Nuclear Inspector (ANI).
Inspection oversight of in-process welding, machining, NDT, and other inspection processes.
Assisting quality team to ensure controlled documents / current revisions are up to date.
Assist in review of internal calibration records and subcontracted calibration services.
Temporary assignment to other activities/duties as needed to support the business.
Flexible hours to meet emergent Customer needs.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality assurance system / department.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in welding symbols, codes and standards interpretation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate quality and technical requirements.
Knowledge and experience in NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR21, and ANSI N45.2, quality requirements. ASME BPVC Section VIII, ASME BPVC Section III experience a plus.
AWS CWI certification is desired.
ASNT-TC-1A Level II VT and PT is desired.
Experience implementing quality assurance programmatic controls in a growing business.
Minimum 2 years’ inspection experience in a mechanical or electrical discipline is desired.
Minimum 2 years’ experience with knowledge and practical experience working with nuclear QA codes and standards is desired.
Machinist/Fabricator experience is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree or related experience in technical field is desired.
Nuclear commercial grade dedication experience is a plus.
Experience in aerospace (AS 9100) QMS quality department may be substituted depending on type of experience and qualifications.
