Group Counselor- Master’s Level Clinician32 hours per weekSkyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking a master’s level mental health clinician to facilitate a variety of groups for adult clients at the residential, PHP and IOP levels of care. This position requires previous clinical experience facilitating group therapy for individuals with psychiatric illness. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits (32 hours per week). Scope: To facilitate group therapy during treatment hours with clients from each of Skyland Trail’s recovery communities and complete related documentation.Duties: Facilitates assigned groups throughout the treatment day and documents in electronic medical record.Utilizes curriculum to plan and facilitate (or co-facilitate) assigned day treatment groups.Provides planned and emergency coverage for groups.Facilitates groups according to group rules and confidentiality guidelines and redirects group members as needed to address any behavioral concerns in group.Collaborates with Assistant Directors and Directors to develop and update relevant curriculum.Documents and otherwise communicates client participation in group therapy with the rest of the recovery team.Communicates client safety concerns with team members as needed.Collaborates with clinical team members as needed regarding client care.Develops treatment plans as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.Assists with group schedule coordination and related tasks as needed.Maintains current group description document as assigned by supervisor.Participates in recovery team meetings as assigned.Participates in weekly staff education meetings as assigned.Participates in biweekly meetings with direct supervisor for training, administrative purposes, support and case consultation.Participates in a variety of consultation team meetings as assigned.Practices ethically and complies with facility policies and accreditation standards (i.e., Joint Commission, ORS, etc.)Supports treatment team’s efforts to assist and guide clients to achieve the maximum level of independence, while functioning in the least restrictive environment.Participates in continuing education.Participates in supervision with outside supervisor as appropriate for licensure.Provides cross-coverage for groups at adolescent campus as needed.Completes other duties as assigned.Salary & Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Benefits include:9 paid organization-wide holidays1 paid personal holidayAccrued PTOMedical, dental, and vision insurance plansEmployer match toward 403(b) retirement savings account for eligible employeesEmployee assistance program for free or reduced financial counseling, mental health counseling, and other confidential professional assistanceAs a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, Skyland Trail is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) qualified employer.
