Contract Coordinator

Just Salad is looking for a Contract Coordinator to join the team. The Contract Coordinator develops, coordinates, and monitors contract activities across Just Salad's Legal, Development, Supply Chain, and Facilities departments. Working under the direction of the General Counsel, this role partners primarily with the Development and Real Estate teams on the full lifecycle of construction-related agreements-from initial drafting and negotiation through execution and compliance monitoring-while also supporting Supply Chain and Facilities on vendor and service agreements. The Contract Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, outside counsel, general contractors, subcontractors, architects, vendors, and municipal agencies involved in new store buildouts, renovations, and related capital projects. The role also supports Supply Chain and Facilities teams on equipment, service, and maintenance agreements. This is a high-impact role within a lean legal team supporting 115+ locations and an aggressive national expansion plan.This position reports to: General CounselLocation: onsite in our NYC officeDuties & Responsibilities:With the assistance of legal counsel, draft, review, and negotiate the business points for all construction-related agreements using Just Salad's in-house contract forms, including general contractor agreements, subcontractor agreements, and architectural and engineering services agreements.Lead contract negotiations with general contractors and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with Just Salad's standard business terms, risk allocation framework, delivery dates and budget parameters.Coordinate contract processing workflows between Legal, Development, Real Estate, Supply Chain, Facilities, and Finance, ensuring timely execution to meet project schedules.Track contract milestones, deliverables, insurance requirements, lien waivers, change orders, and payment applications to ensure compliance with agreement terms.Manage the contract approval and routing process, maintaining organized records of all executed documents and correspondence.Coordinate with the Real Estate team on lease-related construction obligations, including landlord work letters, tenant improvement allowances, and construction timelines.Review contractor and vendor insurance certificates for compliance with Just Salad's coverage requirements and coordinate with Risk Management as needed.Monitor project closeout documentation, including certificates of occupancy, punch lists, final lien waivers, and warranty information.Support dispute resolution and claims management related to construction contracts, gathering documentation and coordinating with outside counsel as needed.Maintain and improve contract templates, clause libraries, and standard operating procedures for the construction contracting process.Prepare status reports and summaries for the General Counsel and Development leadership on pending and active construction, supply chain, and facilities agreements.Assist with other legal department projects and general contract administration tasks as assigned.Required Knowledge & Skills:Strong knowledge of construction contract principles, including payment and performance bonds, retainage, change orders, mechanic's lien requirements, and insurance provisions.Demonstrated ability to negotiate the business points of commercial agreements with contractors, vendors, and design professionals with assistance of legal counsel.Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent contracts and deadlines across multiple active projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with contractors, attorneys, architects, and internal business partners at all levels.High attention to detail, particularly in reviewing and redlining contract language and tracking compliance obligations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with contract management or document management systems.Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Strong sense of urgency and accountability-comfortable working directly with senior leadership across Development, Real Estate, Supply Chain, Facilities, Finance, and Legal.Utilize AI-powered tools to streamline contract review, extraction, and tracking workflows, improving turnaround times and enabling the teams to operate at scale.Qualifications Needed:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Construction Management, or a related field ) is strongly preferred.Minimum of 3+ years of experience in contract administration, construction contract coordination, or a related role.Direct experience negotiating construction agreements (GC contracts, subcontracts, design professional agreements) is strongly preferred.Prior experience in the restaurant, hospitality, retail, or real estate development industry is a plus.Prior experience working in a legal department and/or development team is a plus.Benefits:$90,000 - $110,000/ annual salary plus eligibility for corporate bonusPaid Vacation, Holidays, and Sick TimeMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLong Term Disability, Hospital Indemnity, Accidental Insurance401KEmployee Assistance ProgramFitness Discounts (Planet Fitness and Crunch)Summer FridaysPre-tax Benefits (Commuter Benefits and FSA)Free Just Salad while workingAbout Us:
