Utility OperatorCome join our Old Fort, OH facility where we manufacture products such as A&H Baking Soda, A&H Cat Litter, and A&H Unit Dose Detergent!Role Summary:Responsible for performing various housekeeping and ancillary functions for the plant.Duties And Responsibilities:Performs housekeeping or janitorial duties to include sweeping, shoveling, and cleaning of departments and RBC floors of baking soda or other residue including loading docks and pertinent outside areas.Performs cleaning & scraping of trays in the dryer units during the bi-weekly column wash. Involves confined space entry and working at heights with fall protection.Sets up the plant cafeteria for plant manager's meetings, training sessions, and other plant activities.Assembles Cat Litter Display pallets as dictated by Customer Orders.Re-stack and/or re-palletize up to 50lb. units as necessary to meet customer requirements.Transporting (Lifting & Carrying) bagged raw materials for use in Bi-Carb operationsGrounds keeping duties to include but not limited to mowing, trimming, snow removal and interior / exterior painting.Sort pallets by lifting and removing unusable pallets.Trains for other department's positions to become qualified to fill-in for short and long-term absences.Performs numerous non-routine duties as assigned.Work any shift during the week as well as weekendsOperate forklift in a safe and timely manner.Education, Training, And Experience Requirements:Minimum of a High School Diploma / GED is requiredSix months forklift experience preferredManufacturing/Industrial experience requiredKnowledge, Skills, And Abilities:Use safe operating procedures and judgmentFollow all facility rules to maintain quality and integrity of both raw materials and finished productsLift 50 pounds consistentlyFamiliar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principlesPhysical Requirements:Job Title: UtilityTypical Work Conditions: Exposure To:Yes No Yes NoMoving machinery X Chemical fumes X Hot surface / tools X Heat/Cold X Concrete surface X Slippery surface X Repetitive motion X Chemicals X Noise X Other: Dust particulates X Fork truck batteries XEquipment Used: Step stool/ladder X Forklift/jack X Power hand tools X Computer X Power Machinery X Box cutter X Respirator X Hearing protection X Steel Toe shoes X Gloves XMajor Physical Tasks:Lifting 50lb Bags of Baking Soda Once a week Stair traversal Up to 7 flights at once in the tower Cleaning Mopping, sweeping, cleaning surfaces Shoveling snow and salting roadways Only when necessary Cleaning the dryer Scraping, chiseling, lifting chunks of hardened baking soda Dump crane operation Operating the crane present at garbage disposal site Transporting barrels with hand truck Pushing wheeled hand truckActivity Frequency Activity Frequency Lift/Carry: N O F C Movement: N O F C 10 lbs. or less X Bending X 11 20 lbs.
