You'll lead skilled teams, work with high-end architectural millwork, and play a key role in keeping jobs moving efficiently from machine to finished product.If you like setting the pace, solving problems on the floor, and building quality work with a strong team — this role is for you.Position SummaryThe Machining & Cabinet Assembly Superviso r oversees daily operations across the Machining and Assembly departments in a commercial millwork environment. This role leads 8-9 employees, coordinates workflow between departments, ensures projects are built to plan and specification, and maintains high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team DevelopmentSupervise, train, and lead machining and cabinet assembly employeesSet daily expectations, pace, and productivity goalsAssign tasks based on project priorities and skill levelsCoach team members on proper tool use, machine operation, and best practicesFoster a positive, safe, and accountable work environmentProduction & Quality ControlEnsure projects are built per shop drawings, plans, and specificationsPerform quality checks on machined components before assemblyInspect finished cabinets and millwork prior to wrapping and shipmentEnsure work orders are completed 100% and released on scheduleComplete daily case count forms per work orderDocument and report quality or production issues to the Shop ForemanMachining & Technical Oversigh tInterpret blueprints and specifications to set up machinery for complex cutsOversee operation of CNCs, edge banders, beam saws, and other millwork equipmentEnsure proper tooling selection and cutting techniquesTroubleshoot machine issues and coordinate repairsPerform and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly machine maintenanceWorkflow, Inventory & CoordinationOptimize production flow between the Machining and Assembly departmentsManage machine schedules, material usage, and job sequencingMaintain accurate inventory levelsCoordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely material deliveryEnsure accurate time tracking in InnergySafety & OrganizationEnforce OSHA safety standards and safe shop practicesIdentify and address potential hazardsMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient work areaSkills & AbilitiesStrong leadership and communication skillsIn-depth knowledge of commercial millwork machinery and processesExcellent blueprint and shop drawing interpretation skillsStrong attention to detail and quality controlSolid math skills and ability to read a tape measureMechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindsetSelf-motivated, dependable, and positive attitudeExperience & Qualifications2+ years in a millwork lead, supervisor, or similar roleExperience in a manufacturing or architectural millwork environment preferredAbility to operate woodworking machinery and basic shop equipmentCNC, edge bander, and beam saw experience a plusAbility to train others to inspect and verify critical dimensionsComfortable using a computer and production tracking systemsForklift operation experiencePhysical RequirementsStanding for extended periods during the workdayFrequent lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and carryingAbility to lift up to 50 lbs independentlyAbility to lift more than 100 lbs with team assistanceAdditional InformationBackground check required prior to employment30-day probationary period for all new hires.J.
