Assistant Controller

This exciting opportunity as an Assistant Controller focuses on supporting financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining the integrity of accounting processes within a multi-outlet property. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong hotel finance experience who thrives in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting and enjoys working closely with leadership to drive financial accuracy and operational excellence.Responsibilities:• Assist the Property Controller in all aspects of hotel accounting and financial operations• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting• Prepare and post journal entries with a strong understanding of debits and credits• Perform complex bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and clearing items• Balance daily revenue and cash postings across multiple revenue streams (rooms, F&B, retail, etc.)• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to cash, credit cards, and daily revenue activity• Reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet accounts to supporting schedules• Maintain detailed account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner• Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and operational standards• Assist with audits, ownership requests, and financial reporting requirements• Utilize Excel for reconciliations, financial analysis, and reporting• Perform other duties as assignedRequired Experience:• Bachelor’s degree required• 5+ years of hotel accounting experience required• Strong understanding of hotel accounting processes and daily revenue operations• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas)• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment• Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Experience:• Experience within a branded or large-scale hotel environment preferred• Experience supporting a Property Controller or in a senior accounting role• Familiarity with hotel PMS, POS, and accounting systemsBenefits:• Health insurance• Dental insurance• Vision insurance• Life insurance• Paid time off• 401(k) with matchingPay Range:$90,000 – $100,000
