At KPMG, we believe nothing is more important than investing in our culture because it's an investment in our people, our future, and what we stand for as a firmKPMG is currently seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice.Responsibilities:Participate in multi-state alternative investment firms (hedge fund, fund to funds, private equity, real estate) with state and local tax complianceWork as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide subject matter/alternative investment industry knowledge and experienceReview information presented on state income tax returns before, during and after preparationBuild and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staffAdditional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:* Oversee risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets* Team with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practiceQualifications:Minimum five years of recent experience preparing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issuesLicensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that listExperience providing services to pass-through entities and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax conceptsAbility to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients and desire to perform in a high-energy team environmentExceptional writing, compliance, communication, management and tax research skillsAdditional Qualifications for Senior Manager:* Minimum eight years of recent experience* Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team membersKPMG LLP and its affiliates and subsidiaries ("KPMG") complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
