Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Eden, NC

An opportunity is available for a skilled educator specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction to support students across grades K-12 in Eden, NC. This contract position offers 20 hours per week providing itinerant services, serving as a vital resource to students requiring specialized support in their hearing and communication needs.Responsibilities:Deliver tailored instruction and support for K-12 students with hearing impairments, adapting lessons to meet individual educational goals.Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement effective strategies and accommodations.Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.Communicate regularly with families and provide resources to support learning at home.Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings and professional development activities.Qualifications:Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.Experience in itinerant teaching across K-12 grade levels.Strong understanding of special education principles and individualized education programs (IEPs).Excellent communication and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Location: Eden, North CarolinaThis role provides flexibility with 20 hours per week.
