The Lafayette Family YMCA is seeking a highly experience Basketball Referee for the Adult Basketball League program. Schedule: Wednesday, 6:00p-9:00p Pay Rate: $26/hr *POSITION SUMMARY:* This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Interacts with new and existing members to help them in achieving their health and well-being goals. Creates a welcoming environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities. *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:* 1. Officiates Adult Sports Programs to the best of their abilities. 2. Creates a fair and impartial environment for all members and non-members competing in any programs at the Y 3. Maintains a competitive atmosphere that works to demonstrate the Y’s values. 4. Utilizes tools and information for the purpose of increasing member knowledge of sports as well as sports programs provided through the YMCA (handouts, schedules, etc.). 5. Maintains and cleans equipment according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor. 6. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. 7. Attends all staff meetings. 8. Expressed interest in sports and officiating. 2.
