DescriptionThe Dietary Aide supports the food service team in preparing and serving nutritious meals to residents in a nursing home setting. This role ensures that residents receive meals that meet dietary requirements while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service.Assist with the preparation and portioning of meals according to prescribed dietsServe meals and beverages to residents in dining areas or resident roomsSet up and break down dining areas, including tables and serving stationsFollow special dietary instructions (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, pureed diets)Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipmentMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas in compliance with health regulationsStore food properly and label items according to facility policiesInteract respectfully with residents, accommodating their needs and preferencesAssist in stocking supplies and reporting inventory needsFollow all safety, infection control, and food handling proceduresQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious food service or healthcare experience is a plus but not requiredBasic understanding of food safety and sanitation practicesAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong communication and interpersonal skills
