Nova Data Testing Assistant

ASSISTANT POSITION • JACKSONVILLE, FL AND NEW ENGLAND REGION (MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME, PA) Nova Data Testing is currently looking for hard working and dependable individuals for placement as NDT Assistants to support our projects in the Jacksonville, FL and New England Region. The NDT Assistant will work with NDT Technicians in performing specific calibrations, Nondestructive Tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations. The NDT Assistance will receive both on the job and classroom training and development to further their career as an NDT Technician. Responsibilities Set up and utilize Nondestructive Test equipment Assist NDT Technicians in the calibration of NDT equipment Use of power tools i.e. angle grinder and die grinder Assist NDT Technicians with conducting tests to ensure quality or detect defects using NDT methods of inspection Record results of inspections Assist Technicians in performing NDT procedures and other operations Perform other job related tasks as assigned by management Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Technical background desired Experience in industrial settings preferred Some college experience a plus Desired Competencies Strong work ethic Dependable Exceptional safety and quality awareness Adaptable to changing schedules Exceptional attention to detail Team player able to work well with the entire team Ability to follow directions and procedures Willingness and able to travel 50-70% of the time Physical Demands and Work Conditions Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, visual acuity, accommodation and color vision Often required to wearing a full-face respirator along with appropriate PPE for extended period of time Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 100 lbs Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 ft Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time Work in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold Work in and near industrial hazards.
