Job Title: Senior AccountantLocation: Chicago, ILCompensation: $90-95k + 10% BonusJob Type: Full TimeBenefits: 401k match, Healthcare (including dental and vision), Paid Holidays, PTO, Tuition Reimbursement, etc.Why You Should Apply:Blends fund accounting and consolidations work - highly analyticalReports directly to the Director who has a track-record of being a proven mentor and coach$1.52 Billion company with long-standing history of success and consistently promotes from withinWhat We’re Looking For: 2-4 years of experience in public accountingBachelor’s degree in Accounting CPA certification is a plus (also a plus is you are in the process of obtaining a CPA)Passion for Accounting and ability to drive changeSomeone who has experience within accounting technologies and ERP systemsWhat You’ll Be Doing: Perform or review daily accounting for Taxable REIT Subsidiaries (TRS), Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and holding companies in the joint venture structureRecord capital contribution and distribution activityOversee the monthly consolidations process including the monthly equity pick-up calculations/entries and elimination entriesReview journal entries, bank reconciliations and other month end reconciliations prepared by the Fund Accountant and BookkeeperPrepare reconciliations of intercompany balances within joint venturesPrepare quarterly consolidated financial statements issued to investorsPreparation of financial statements and footnotes for annual joint venture auditsKeep track of internal and external reporting deadlines and ensure timely completion of reportingCommunicate with property accountants to resolve questions and obtain information needed for footnotesRespond to inquiries from auditorsCalculate and record entries to convert financial statements from US GAAP to IFRSDevelop process improvementsThe responsibilities listed above may not be all inclusive
