Travel Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) | Portland, OR | 13-Week Contract Raisso – An Arthur Lawrence Company is hiring an experienced Travel Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a 13-week assignment in Portland, Oregon. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a busy acute care hospital supporting multiple surgical specialties while ensuring the highest standards of instrument sterilization and patient safety. Job Details Position: Travel Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Location: Portland, OR Contract Length: 13 Weeks Start Date: August 31, 2026 Schedule: 4 x 10-Hour Shifts Available Shifts: Days: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Nights: 11:00 PM – 9:00 AM Hours: 40 Hours per Week Weekend Requirement: None On-Call: None First-Time Travelers: Accepted 48-Hour Schedule: Not Available Weekly Pay Travelers (W2) Weekly Pay: Up to $1,280 Taxable Wages: $480/week Non-Taxable Stipend: $800/week (for eligible travelers) Travelers (1099) Weekly Pay: Up to $1,400 Responsibilities Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment. Perform manual and automated cleaning using washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and high-level disinfection equipment. Assemble surgical instrument sets and case carts according to preference cards and procedural requirements. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper assembly before sterilization. Operate and monitor steam sterilizers, Sterrad systems, and sterilization testing processes. Process flexible endoscopes, fiber optics, cystoscopes, and ureteroscopes according to established protocols. Label, wrap, package, and document instrument processing accurately. Maintain inventory and organize instrument trays for multiple surgical specialties. Collaborate with operating room staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments. Follow infection prevention, quality assurance, and regulatory standards at all times. Requirements Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing Technician experience Current HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD certification Experience in an Acute Care Hospital Operating Room Knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, and instrument processing Experience assembling surgical trays and case carts Familiarity with steam sterilization, Sterrad, biological and chemical indicators Epic EMR experience preferred Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills If you're a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician with a passion for surgical excellence and patient safety, apply today to begin your next travel assignment!
