General Job Description:
Ownership of all standard corporate accounting and financial reporting functions – including the execution of processes related to receivables, payables, treasury (banking), and general ledger accounting; month-end closing entries, and financial statement reporting. Senior Financial Accountant needs to be familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures. In addition, this position has the responsibility to help continually streamline and improve how the company executes its accounting and administrative functions including the development of necessary policies and procedures. The position has frequent communication within all departments of Archer. A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is required to succeed in the role.
Responsibilities:
Ownership of the month-end close process (GL entries, roll forward schedules, assistance with preparation of the internal financial review package)
Responsible for cash management tracking and reporting
Preparation of monthly and ad-hoc financial reports and supporting schedules
Preparation, recording, and review of journal entries
Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for completeness and accuracy
Preparation of monthly client invoices and supporting data
Familiarity working with accounting data files, import and export of accounting data
Prepares and provides all schedules for Tax Accounts
Development and improvement of processes and schedules for managing and reporting accounting and financial data
Participation in Monthly executive summary report preparation
Position Requirements/Desired Skills:
3-5 years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (skills test/evaluation will be administered during the interview process)
Must possess basic knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting concepts
Understanding of key controls
Analytical ability and technical aptitude
Experience with Sage 50 Accounting System preferred
A team player, who can also effectively operate independently as the situation dictates
Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external contacts
Understanding of basic investment terminology and the investment management industry preferred
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and react to change positively
Attention to detail and highly organized with excellent follow-up abilities
