We are always looking for the best and brightest talent and we are committed to making your job a challenging and rewarding experience.We are seeking a Customs Compliance Specialist to join our Customs Compliance team supporting high-volume, complex cross-border movements of oil and gas products into the United States, with potential exposure to Canada. This is an individual contributor role within an established compliance program, suited for a self-directed professional who performs well in a structured, process-driven environment.The Customs Compliance Specialist will execute day-to-day import and export compliance activities, with a strong focus on U.S. Customs regulations, Free Trade Agreements, and duty drawback. The role works closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Trading, and Logistics to ensure transactions are compliant, accurately reported, and supported by proper documentation.In addition to maintaining compliance operations, this role will contribute to continuous improvement of existing processes, support internal and external audits, and help identify opportunities to strengthen controls, reporting, and duty recovery in a high-volume operating environment.This is an on-site role requiring independence, attention to detail, and a practical approach to trade compliance execution.Key ResponsibilitiesImport/Export Compliance: Manage documentation and processes for international shipments across multiple entities.Free Trade Agreements (FTAs): Review and validate eligibility for FTAs to optimize duty savings.Valuation & Reconciliation: Perform valuation checks and monthly/quarterly reconciliations to ensure accuracy.Duty Drawback: Prepare and submit duty drawback claims in compliance with regulations.Audits: Support internal audits (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and assist with external audits as needed.Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and timely records for customs transactions and compliance activities.Broker Coordination: Liaise with customs brokers to ensure proper classification, valuation, and documentation.Trade Analytics & Reporting: Generate compliance reports and provide insights for continuous improvement.Regulatory Updates: Monitor and implement changes in customs regulations and trade agreements.Requirements:Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in customs compliance, trade compliance, or related area.Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and FTAs.Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and compliance software.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Preferred Qualifications:U.S. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).Experience with duty drawback programs and reconciliation filings.Familiarity with ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and other trade compliance systems.Working Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Usually, normal office working conditions.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.Occasional overnight travel may be required.Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
