Associate Producer
St. Paul172 East 4th StSt Paul, MN 55101, USAThis Associate Producer will partner with TPT's award-winning Minnesota Experience history content team, the creators of Lost Twin Cities, The Electric Indian, Jim Crow of the North, and other engaging and entertaining regional public history narratives. The Associate Producer demonstrates mastery of the key field and production admin support duties required for the research, pre-production, production, and post-production phases of multiplatform productions. This position works collaboratively with producers with minimal direction and great clarity, timeliness and precision. The Associate Producer may sometimes produce content, segments, and digital material.Ideal candidates for this position are self-directed and dedicated to pursuing innovation in topic and approach. The work is at the intersection of storytelling, state of the art media technologies, use of historical and archival records, and community engagement.This position requires strong cultural competencies, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. Some evening and weekend availability is required, with notice, as is access to reliable transportation to TPT's studios and for off‐site production needs.b>Please include a resume and cover letter with link to work samples.b>Compensation: $28 to $30 per hour in addition to company provided benefits.b>Hybrid Work Environment: Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Twin Cities Metro area and report to onsite office a minimum of three days per week.MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYProduction Admin (50% of time)Creatively collaborates with producers in all the stages of a project, including: research, field production, post production and distribution, and ongoing impactIndependently secures and pre‐interviews on camera subjects, secures locations and resources for field production, and contributes to a detailed production plan and timelineLeads the sourcing of stock or supplemental media, subject matter experts, and any additional storytelling content as needed by projectsCreates and ensures accuracy of production deliverables including music queue sheets and production logsCoordinates with legal, production management, and financial teams as neededActs as an ambassador to internal and external constituents, collaborators, and audiencesProvides support for projects' public relations/marketing processes, events, and educational engagementField Support (25% of time)Provides on location production support for single and multi‐camera field shoots during business and evening hoursMaintains open and clear communication with the production services team and crew to ensure all production details and logistics run smoothly and efficientlyMaintains production‐related paperwork and files in an organized manner along with accurate record keeping meeting various editorial and compliance requirementsPost Production (25% of time)Coordinates with Media Asset Management team on media ingest, tracking, post‐production details, and multi‐media deliverables.Conducts archival research including photo and moving image archives, personal collections, library archives and others as needed, with little direction or supervisionScripts and edits social media content, as directedSupports post production through media organization, offline editing, and other technical, creative and editorial editing workQUALIFICATIONSRequired Experience2‐4 years or equivalent, demonstrated production and production administration experience (can include student work)A reel of work samples with indicating hands on experience across all phases of productionPreferred ExperienceBachelor's DegreeSocial media content creation including vertical video and social media managementKnowledge, skills and abilitiesProficient with other Adobe creative suite apps in addition to PremiereExperience and proficiency in Office 365Exceptional organizational and time management skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills that foster positive and productive cross‐functional working relationships with both internal and external partnersAbility to multi‐task and work well under time pressureSelf‐starter who independently solves problems and takes initiativeStrong oral and written communications skillsInterest and ability in journalistic, creative, and other writingOpen to change; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstaclesTreats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respectPassion for public media and our mission, vision and valuesAbility to be in a stationary position and work on a computer for sustained periods of timeAbility to travel to locations in the greater metro area if needed.
